I’ve been getting back in the Word recently, and I’m telling you—it’s been refreshing.
I’ve gone back and forth about blogging again, because of course the enemy whispers things like, “No one reads it anyway,” or “It doesn’t matter—why do you keep doing this?”
But to my faithful readers—thank you.
As many of you know, this blog began years ago during a season when I was struggling with depression and grappling with deep despair. I leaned into music and writing as a way to express what I couldn’t always say out loud. And God used those words—not only to heal me, but to bless others walking their own healing journeys.
What began as “The Adventures of Jess”—a whimsical look at the life of yours truly—eventually became “Words That Heal.” What a gift it is to do what I love: using words to encourage others in a way God has gifted me.
I hope to publish one day, but until then, this is how I praise in the hallway and live out part of my calling.
Recently, while praying and asking God whether I should keep this thing going, I came across Scripture—specifically the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30.
And my answer was clear.
At the end of my life, I want to hear the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” because I stewarded my gifts and invested them in the Kingdom of God.
So here I am—still writing. Still loving. Still dreaming. Still praying.
I pray I’m blessed to do this in whatever capacity the Lord desires.
What began for me, continues for Him.
Dear readers, be blessed, and remember: the Kingdom of God is worth more than anything. And a life lived for Jesus is a life lived most abundantly.
