Finding peace when your to-do list feels endless

Do you ever have days when items on that to-do list are shouting at you?
I’m not talking about hearing voices per se, but about a constant reminder that there is more to be done that my brain can process.
I’ve had one of those days recently and as I sat in my office eating my lunch, a scripture came to mind.
I had to look it up because I didn’t know it by memory.
Maybe these words will soothe you today as they did for me.
Here is the verse:
“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
- Psalms 61:2
I thought about printing it out in giant letters and plastering it on the wall.
Father, lead me.
I spend so much time trying to lead or prove things to others and myself about how capable
I am. But God already knows. He already sees. And when I am weak, I lean on Him and through His strength, I carry on.
Thank you, for Your words, Lord.
This verse is one of my favorites, it reminds me that I am strong even when I’m weak and that I’m never alone.
“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
- 2 Corinthians 12:9
In times like these we must lean on His word transcribed in the Holy Bible scriptures.
And these are reminders of the value of memorizing those very words.
May we understand the importance of the Word, prioritize memorizing it and recalling it when we need it. Thank You, God, for Your Word!
I challenge you to memorize one verse this week! You’d be amazed at how life changing it can be!
Prayer
God, forgive us for not feasting on Your words daily and hiding them in our memory. Please impress upon our hearts Your wisdom, words and love as we read. Draw us in, God, that we may know You more. Give us the peace only we can get from You in this ever changing world. In Jesus Name. Amen.
