Thanksgiving thoughts from the bathroom mirror

“We put our makeup on and we go on.”

We go on because life doesn’t stop for us. Life doesn’t stop for the new house, new life event, broken relationship, unexpected bills or devastating diagnosis.

But I’m a firm believer in taking moments to sit in those feelings. Sit in them and process them. Know that your perspective is valid, that you are one person, that time will help you heal. Know that there is a beautiful new beginning right around the corner. Know that the God of the Universe is here and He is waiting for you to trust  Him in any frustration or any situation.

You don’t have to solve all your problems alone.

You don’t have to process big feelings alone.

As a Christian, you have access to a Big God who wants to have a relationship with you. He wants to love you and to be loved back. After all, God is love and to love Him is greater than anything. To trust Him is to know He will carry you through the hardest moments in this life and when our time comes, He will carry us into our beautiful heavenly home.

I don’t know what this Thanksgiving means to you or what challenges you will face.

But know these moments are fleeting.

Take time to process. Take time to sit and reflect.

And above all, take time to be thankful and grateful for all of the beautiful things and people in your life.
