Usurping fears of the unknown

So I haven’t written in a while and I have so much to catch you up on.

I took a step of faith that I thought God wanted me to take and I searched for new professional opportunities. But the door did not open for me. It was not His timing.

My dryer caught on fire after lightning in a thunderstorm struck two light poles on my road. I was displaced with family for a couple of days and it felt a lot of post hurricane PTSD. If you’re from the Carolinas or you’re a Hurricane survivor, you know what I mean.

I keep getting discouraged from the enemy to write. I think of things I have done wrong in the past and then of people who believe lies told about me. And the enemy heaps shame on me for things in the rear view mirror that I can’t change. Words I can't take back. Friendships that might never mend after heartbreak.

But the truth is no one is perfect. Life is a colorful messy photo painted by a toddler. Yet sometimes the stars align and God's plan is nothing but evident.

I read somewhere or heard something to the effect of life. Someone smart said "life is a delicate dance of holding on and letting go."

And I am no dancer, dear readers, I'll tell you that right now. I can carry a tune, but I do not have dancing feet.

So I struggle like many others as we gain friends and lose them at this age. As we hurt then we heal.

Truthfully, the 20s make anything else but sense to me. It's like part two of puberty but with actual mom jeans.

Yes, these are the years of learning. The ones of entry jobs, job promotions, marriages, children and first time home buying.

A lot of us are broke and a lot of us are confused. We're dressing like the 90s and dancing like kids on TikTok with our bellbottom jeans jacked up. But the beauty is we are learning as we go. And that is perfectly Ok.

We will stumble, we will fall and we will try again.

And when we get knocked out I pray we come back stronger than we did at the start of the fight.

Because there is nothing we can't do with God leading us forward.

And there is no unknown we can't conquer.
