When giants fall
What do we do when giants fall in our lives?
We always like to talk about victories over giants, you know, the Bible story of David slaying a giant names Goliath. But I want to switch gears and offer up another analogy.
Recently, I’ve been wrestling with watching women of faith who are mentors to me deal with some harsh realities. And I have asked God why?
Why have my giants fallen?
Why are these faithful women undergoing so much uncertainty and pain?
And you know what He gave me?
We are all dealing with struggles and battles, some are just shared more or are more public than others.
Every one of us has a path to walk filled with highs and lows.
Often we don’t publicize the pain.
But we shout the victories from the roof tops.
What if we were more vulnerable with each other? What if we shared both the burdens and the breakthroughs?
The Bible calls us to: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”(Galatians 6:2)
When giants fall—whether our own or those we look up to—maybe that’s the very moment we’re called to step in with prayer, compassion, and encouragement.
